Boil a small bit of water in a kettle, less than you’d use for a single cup of tea. You’ll only need a splash.
Scoop about 1 tbsp cocoa into your favourite mug.
Slowly pour about 1 tbsp boiling water into the cocoa. Mix carefully with a spoon, smooshing any clumps into the sides of the mug til you have a smooth, rich chocolate mixture. If it’s pasty, add a bit more water, but only a little.
Slowly stir in any plant-based milk til the mug is full, preferably a “barista blend.”
Microwave your mug for about a minute, giving it a stir to be sure it’s warm through.
Add a spoonful of maple syrup or vanilla sugar, maybe a pinch of salt or cinnamon. Or be wild and go for all of the above! Enjoy!
